Another auger question

Fergus Mor McErc

Question

How does the blade on a MagnumIII attach? On top of or below it's mounting spot? I confess, I've never been sure. My father-in-law gave it to me a number of years ago and it didn't have a blade. (Someone gave it to him and he wasn't a fisherman). It seems I've mounted it both ways and it's cut fine (memory problems, ya know) but there has to be a correct way, anyone know what it is? confused.gif

The blades are mounted on top of the auger plate they bolt to. It does cut better that way, also. I had the same problem one year. If you should happen to forget again, just think of it like this: your blades are curved down, covering the mounting plate they bolt to, allowing the ice shavings to go up over the blade and miss the mounting plate totally.

Hope this helps.
