311Hemi
Ok...This is an attempt but may not be enough info so I appologize if so.......I am looking to buy an Otter ice house from a guy and he says it's like 6-7 years old. I have not seen it yet but he told me it is an otter sled, but the canvas part of it is black, but was manufactured by the the same company before they became Otter. This house has round poles. I am not sure if it would be a decent purchase or not...he is asking $300 w/cover. Does anyone have any thoughts or info? He said it was purchased or manufactured up off Hwy 10 somewhere. Maybe more towards Elk river or further north....Although it seems I could get a new house for another $100 so maybe this is not worth it...I will be pulling it behind a snowmobile so I would like ti more durable...Any thoughts would be great. EBass
How big is it? 300 seems high for 6/7 years old unless it's huge! My .
Gissert
It sounds like the same set up as my old unit: an Otter tub with a Canvas Craft fabric. Canvas Craft covers of that vintage are black, and I believe they were called Otter Skins.I agree that $300 sounds steep. I got a new Shoremaster Voyaguer last fall for not much more than that. Paul Waldowski
Yep!Canvas Craft. They still make houses that go on Otter Sleds. I agree with E-bass though. If it is just the house and sled, and it's that old, $300 sounds a tad high.
311Hemi
He said it's a Otter Skin Magnum portable fish house..with seat and cover. I am assuming it's a 2 man like no the otter site... I thought it was high also...and was going to make him a lower offer.... ** It looks like you guys answered my questions. Thanks! Now...what do you think you would offer....and are they decent or am I better off buying a new sled? I am leaning towards new a new otter....but for the price I will float other ideas.... FZ
I believe you are talking about the original Otter skin house made by Canvas Craft in Anoka. Do a 'google' search for canvas craft MN.
EBass
@ Gander yesterday and a new Fish Trap Pro (comes with seat no cover) 279. This is a big one man. Check out www.otter.com and compare the price and size of a new otter. correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Canvas Craft still around? I heard they are real good. Word of mouth. Gotta run gents!
