gundy89
Uncle just built a place on this lake. He hasn't fished muskies before so I thought that I would take him out next year. I know how people are with their secrets, but if someone could lend a starting point, that would be great.
RuKiddingMe
Gundy89,I fished this lake once last season, it’s part of a river system (The Snake River I think). The water was pretty murky, I couldn’t see my lure 6 inches under the surface let alone tell if I had any follows. I did have a decent northern swipe at my bait as I was playing around with my lure by the reed bed in the middle of the lake. A friend of mine caught a 42 inch northern out there the same summer. I fished the mouth of the river on the south west and the south east and the reed bed in the middle. If I remember correctly it gets deep just off the reed bed pretty quick. The Minnesota Musky book by the sportsmans guide has pretty decent map in it.Good Luck…Have you been in the Alex area Musky hunting lately? gundy89
Thanks for the help. No I haven't, the boats put away and have been doing some hunting lately. Not enough though. Did well on the pheasants just after opener, but ducks were scarce. Harvested a doe last weekend. Hopefully over thanksgiving I can get out for some more birds again. I can't wait for next year to get back out after the muskies!!!
