i have been deer hunting for 30 years and have only gotten 2 deer 1 with a gun and 1 with a bow

every year it gets worse, this year not really even any trails there is alot of rubs in one area but thats it i just dont know what to do any more, now the dogs where i hunt at sit by the field where the deer would enter it just gets frustrating when i know there isnt any deer out there sure wish i would have had someone to teach me,or somewhere good to hunt, well i dont know just venting i guess thanks >:(

BK i would not give up yet! it sounds like you need to find a new area to hunt.( i know! easier said than done!) do you have any public hunting near you? or do some driving around in the early mornings to locate deer. then start asking. public ground can be great, but you may have to study things to get away from other people. hang in there! del

Dude, don't give up buddy....this is happens to a lot of people, then they usually change somthing and go on a tear. Are you passing up smaller deer or what?? Let me know, if you want to come up to Bemidji I will take you out....maybe even down on se mn, but let me know!

Don't give up hunting, just try somewhere or something different. Sooner or later even a blind squirrel finds a nut man... That is an amazing dry spell, but hey its off season for us circle trackers anyway. No sense to rebuilding the car when you could be hunting, that's what WINTER is for!

How exactally do you hunt?? I mean do you tramp around the woods all day or sit in a tree stand. If you have spend thirty years walking around with no luck, you should probabally try hunting from a tree stand, and if you are hunting from a tree-stand maybe you need to work on placement, let me know what you like to do. Also I DO think you need a new place to hunt....let me know if you ever want to make the trek to bemidji, I'll take ya out, I go bow though....

just a couple examples of my bad luck a 12 pointer comes running down the crp and stops 40 yards from my stand ,and i mean this was a buck that you only see in vidoes, anyway i shoot dead on at his lung area, well he runs away i cant believe it i went over to check for blood nothing not one drop, but i do see whiteish color hair on the ground i mean there is no way i continue to look around well well well i turn around and i see a 2 inch diameter birch treee with a split from my 12 guage so that is why my shot went ary ,go figure another year hear comes an 8 pointer right towards me in the field on the edge of the woods from the east so i take aim and all of the sudden here comes a dnr plane (i think) from the north right towards the buck and the buck stops looks up and goes right back the other way so yeah i was out this morning but there are just no deer around there at all this year so im done i mean i have sat endless hours out there with no deer so it just doesnt pay im done for the year i just dont understand it
