What degree transducer

It all depends on what kind of lake(s) you will be fishing and what you will be fishing for.

The degeree is the cone angle. The deeper the water the more area your cone will cover as it nears the bottom. If you are going to fish lakes 30 feet or less, then a 19 degree is all you need. If you are going to fish deep water for lake trout for example, then a 9 is what you want. If you are fishing water with steep vertical structure then a dual frequency is needed to prevent "dead spots". Do a search here for more on that topic, it has been explained quite well.

Good luck!
