1997 ext 580 cylinder question

i have a 97 580 cylinder that either needs to be resleeved or have it relined,but i heard from a local salvage yard that it is not a good idea to sleeve these.what are your thoughts,thanks

if you replace the nickacyl sleeve with a cast sleeve you have to do the other cyclinder to. Cast sleeves run hotter than nickel sleeves. Re nicking a sleeve doesn't hurt any thing. in fact it can be bored and re nicked. but your still looking a doing both cyclinders. by the time your done it cost almost as much as just buying a new cyclinder.
