2003 Polaris Sportsman 400. The four wheeler is yellow and has 170 miles on it. No scratches and is mint condition(looks brand new). Stored inside and was used for ice fishing and landscaping the yard. Was serviced at 150 miles with all fluids changed. I may have pictures available if I can figure out my scanner. This is a practically a brand new machine. The new buyer would not have to pay tax and it is licensed until 2005. I dont think I am too high, but if I am make an offer.

Everyone I have talked to has said no tax on a private sales on atv, boat etc.

On an ATV or snowmobile, when the buyer gets the registation title changed, the DMV will charge sales tax. However, tax is based on the purchase price and can be "fudged" by the buyer and seller.

In Wisconsin maybe, but not in Minnesota, Crossin' eyes. There is no sales tax on private sales of recreational vehicles (boats, ATVs and snowmobiles).

I wouldn't recommend tax evasion either...

Crossin made me call the DNR and sit on hold or 15 min. to prove that there is no tax. The Only fee is a $12.50 registration transfer.
