B.P. Cat League

Recommended Posts

First meeting for this year's league action is Sunday , April 18th at 5:00 at the Borough Bowl in Belle Plaine. Looks like the rules will stay the same, which has to be voted on yet, but it appears that a couple of folks won't be with us this year. I will post some more info on this later next week after Ozzy comes back from vacation and we hash out a few more details. Anybody is welcome to attend this meeting.

I definitely will be fishing the league again this year but I’ll be sturgeon fishing on the Rainy the 17th and 18th, I don’t know if I’ll be home in time to make it to the meeting though. I liked the way we had it setup for rules last year, so if there isn’t any kind of major change count me as a yes to keep them the same. I’ll be a no boat entry, if you need any other info let me know and I’ll give it to you. I’ll be sure to make the next meeting; I’m looking forward to seeing all you guys again.

For you guys who are not going to make the meeting, would you be opposed to changing the dates?

As of now the dates will be June 11th& 25th
July 9th and 23rd and August 13th and 20th.
These are Fridays with starting time at 6:30 fish till 1:00.
Entry fee with 100% payback:
Riders-$125
Captains $75
Prizes will pay out to 2 longest Flats and towards the longest Channel. Prizes to be determined by how many league members we end up with. We will also pay out for the end of the year standings, TBD.
5 of the 6 nights you fish are used in the standings, Lord knows we need Mulligans in this league after the Flattys kicked our arse on the last night of league last year.
This is strickly a Catch, Photo, release league.
Fish are measured, photo taken, then immeadiatly released . Photo and results are to be taken to 169Sports no later than Sunday following league night.
In case of severe weather threat, we will fish either the following night or the next available Friday. That will be decided by the league members.
Bait, beer and food to be decided between you and whomever you are fishing with. It's OK to down a couple of brews but lets be safe and within the law.
As of now, Ozzy will be the secretary, with any disputes to be decided by yours truly.

This has been a blast the last couple of years, so come to the meeting this coming Sunday, April 18th if you can. We will have a couple more meetings before the action starts so any questions call Ozzy at 169 Sports 952-873-4868 or e-mail me at [email protected] I also work every Tuesday and thursday evening at 169 Sports

Far as I know, Hooper and Farmer D are in along with PaperBoy. Unless he decides to move to Ireland or some crazy thing like that. Of course we will vote on a Prez and such.

The dates mentioned above are set ,as are the rules and we have 7 guys committed so far. Really looking for some more captains but will take all. Next meeting will be May 23rd at the Borough Bowl in Belle Plaine at 5:00. Lots of stories told and things got interesting when the power went out. Luckily I had two headlamps and a spotlight in the truck till Tom got a lantern in the bar. Pretty much decided then that a 20x 20 icehouse needs to be built with a L shaped bar in at at that point.

So far 7 committed for now with 3 more still thinking about it. Please note that the meeting is moved to 169 Sports ( same building) since the bowling alley is shut down on Sunday's till the end of August.

really nothing has changed with the limited amount of people showing up, must of been the rain. Anyway we are planning on one more meeting on June 1st at 7:00 at the Borough Bowl. I hope that everybody interested shows up for this one, we have some decisions to make for sure. Entry fee, subs, and such. Have to make sure that our secretary starts jamming the phones. Special thanks to Bill from Midwest Rod& Reel for his presentation. Most impressed with the equipment!

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
