Tracker 87
Anyone know of the existence of a map of Canyon Lake near Vermilion Bay Ontario? Heading up there next weekend for a week of chasing muskies and walleyes. I have searched the internet high and low and found nothing.
MuskyBrian
It is extremely hard to get ahold of a map of that area. Try this number..416-362-9297, it is the "Canada Map Company"....If you can't get ahold of a map do not fret, there are muskies everywhere on Canyon, you will not have any problems. Tracker 87
Musky Brian - Wanting the map to not only find Musky structure - but to avoid that which may eat my lower unit. Sounds like you've fished there - anything to worry about?? I'm hoping it's not like LOW where you're cruising along in 100' of water and all of a sudden there's a solid granite colum 6" below the surface? I feel naked going out on a new lake without a map. Hopefully the resort will have a good one if the Canada Map Co. can't come through.
MuskyBrian
You have very little to worry about, it is nothing like LOTW in terms of rocks that sneak out of the depths. I wish I could help you more, but I am not sure that late August patterns fit mid-june patterns which I have fished this lake....We found fish in the many bays that held bullrush. use SMALLER baits, VERY important on this body of water. Especially in your bucktails. If you ever stublme upon a beaver structure, FISH it...almost always held an active fish. Despite a few nice cabbage spots we did not find mnay fish in the weedbeds. In the middle of the day, fish the sandy beaches in front of some of the cabins, they will hold BIG fish. Topwater action at night is PHENOMONAL, bring a TopRaider or 2. There are also always fish cruising the docks, use this for down times...Good Luck!!!!
