TomBow
This is an adder to the other "food over the border.." thread. I just spoke with a Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA)rep. about bringing venison into Canada from the U.S. His comments were:"You are allowed a total weight of 20 Kg (44 lbs.) of Fresh/Frozen meat, only 5 kg (11 lbs.) of which can be beef. No fresh potatoes or fresh Blueberries are allowed."Please review my post on the "food over the border" thread for other information, which I took directly from the CFIA HSOforum.Best of Luck,Tom B. subzero
I just came back across from Morson and on the US side we were ask if we had any meat that was not stamped USDA. The border officer said they have to conficate all beef or unidentified meat coming in the US that is not USDA stamped until the ban on Candian beef is lifted. So if you take it to Canada eat it because they won't let it come back
TomBow
Good to know, Sub! Tanks MON!How did coming back to the U.S. go? Two years ago it took me a second to figure out what the officer said when she blurted out "what is your country of citizenship?" and they pulled us off to the side and gave us the big search. What did they ask when you came back this time? Thanks again![This message has been edited by TomBow (edited 06-10-2004).]

subzero
When we crossed from Canada to US they wanted our drivers license and wanted to know where we lived and how we knew each other in the vehicle. The border gaurd was extremely freindly and polite, he also made a check of our fish and Canada fishing licinse. The whole time spent at the border was probably 7 minutes so that wasn't to bad. Double D
I went to Thunder Bay fishing last week and it was the same as last year at the border north of Grand Marais. 1 minute going in to Canada, less than 30 seconds coming back in to US. 2 or 3 questions each way and off we went.Good fishing at Dog Lake, too.DD[This message has been edited by Double D (edited 06-17-2004).]
