New to icefishing

Hello, folks,

I'm a real newbie to icefishing, but I will be visiting Canada next week to spend the holidays with my family in Revelstoke, BC.

Now, my question is, is this a good place to give icefishing a go, or........

Icefishing is something almost unknown overhere in the Netherlands,so please, I could do with some help

I am very unfamiliar with ice fishing in B.C. If you have general questions about ice fishing, we can answer them here. As far as exact lakes, locations, techniques, etc....sorry. Welcome to FishingMinnesota!

I highly doubt you will find lakes there. You may be able to do some fly fishing in the river systems there as they don't freeze. If you wanted to ice fish you may have to trek up a mountain to a glacier lake and that could be difficult with all your gear and an auger. If you drive through Saskatchewan you will find many lakes with hundreds of shacks, and excellent fishing.
