Vipor50
A group of us are going to Vermillion Bay Lodge in late May. Am wondering how this place is...and how the fishing is close by. Any comments greatly appreciated
TomBow
Vipor,Vermilion Bay Lodge on Eagle lake is a great place to go. We honeymooned there during June 16-21, 2002. Gord is one of those never stop working guys that knows how to keep his customers happy. It was unseasonably warm while we were there, did better on the northerns than on the walleyes, first fish out of the water was a 26" chunky football of a walleye on a silver/blue shad rap. Better fishing was on spinner rigs and minnows, did pretty good with hammered brass blades. Managed 1 lake trout out of a connected to Eagle, lake. Gord cleans fish like he's in a contest (and about to win) and does an excellent job accomodating your requests. Their boats are nice 16ft. Alumarine with darn-near-new 20 hp. mercs. Great combos, good running boats. You guys should have a great time. V-Bay lodge is top notch, we will be going again for Honeymoon #2. Of course, eagle lake is no slouch, there are weeks worth of water to fish. If you use their boats, watch the transducer. We didn't notice that the transducer was way tilted until the last freakin' day! Yeah, that's right! I'm a real einstein, heh, heh! Durrrrr! Probably got tilted from pulling the boats up on shore. You can check out Canadian Regs specific to Eagle Lake on the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources web site. Hope you have a great time!
