Carter reservoir report

I've been to Carter reservoir two times in the past couple of weeks and both times the trout fishing has been very good. Almost anything shiny or spinning seems to work, just below the surface and trolled around 2.5MPH along the southwest area of the no-wake zone. Most have been stocker-sized, but a couple of smaller sized walleye even went after rooster tail spinners. The fish must be hungry right now...

I went again Sunday morning and conditions were the same. Many rainbows and a few small walleyes. The bite was best from 6-7AM and we caught a few small walleyes later in the morning (11AM). This time, firetiger colored lures worked best, we caught about 15 trout and 3 walleyes between the three of us.
