We are planning on going to Granby over the Labor day weekend, and thought I'd get a head start on some info. Never fished it by boat,(only on the hard water), so any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. has anyone fished here recently??? Any current reports?? Do most people troll or jig? Will the fish be pretty deep, or skathered through different depts? I'm assuming the usuall presentations will work, along with a big slab of sucker meat. Also, what's the water temp like??? Kids might like to do alittle tubing in the middle of the day, but isn't the water pretty cold? Like I said, I've only been there in the winter.
Thanks in advance,
John

Was watching a cable channel tonight and they looked to be fishiing close to shore from there boats in and not very far down with the tube jigs we use in the winter tipped with sucker meet. I do not know Grandby well enough to know where they were. Good luck! By the way I bought a boat and took it out on Pueblo Sunday. Just boated...no fishing.

Wow, there really IS someone still out there! How's it going Lucky? How's the new boat treating ya? Fishing has definately slowed down, since we've been back at school for 3 weeks now. This is the 2nd week with kids. Hurray for CSAP. Coaching 8th grade football has been pretty fun, we should have a decent season. Had an excellent summer of fishing and playing, but fishing has pretty much been relagated to weekends, although we did find a nice little crappie hole not to far away, so we hit that every now and then in the evenings.
Have a good one!

Good to here from you. Glad to hear you got some R and R over the summer. I am gonna try and get the boat out one more time this summer. It's pretty fun but I'm still getting comfortable with it at this point. We had pretty good summer but have been back at it for three weeks like you guys. My wife is adjusting to being a full time teacher for the first time since 1992. Hope you and yours are well.

I was up there a week or so ago and we did pretty well with copper spoons on leadcore about 7 or 8 colors back.

Biggest and only one I caught on the downrigger was with a big yellow dodger in front of a 3" white squid tipped with sucker meat. It only ran about 3 lbs., but was the biggest mac I've caught from granby yet.

Fished Granby on monday. didn't take the boat since the weather was supposed to be lousy,(glad I didn't), but I did take my belly boat. Caught 2 lakers, 24 and 23 inches. They were both big and fat! white tube jig with sucker meat did the trick, some things never change. About 40 - 50ft down, right off the bottom. They both spun me around pretty good. Fished between 9-11:30 a.m. Had probably 3 other hits, and lost one other. All in all had fun, wish I could of fished alittle more.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
