Fishing humor

Recommended Posts

I don't know how funny but here goes.... Once I forgot my Sorels when ice fishing and I had to fish in my "Kareem Abdul Jabbar" low cut shoes....Another time I forgot my fins for belyboating and tried to fin w/out them...Man were my legs tired that night.

Well just a couple of days ago the starter on my truck went out at Spinney, I ended up catching a ride home, went up the next day tried to put the starter in myself but couldn't and had it towed to Lake George for a Grand total of 370 bones. This will make you appreciate your next trip that goes off without a hitch.

Just thought of another one, I was fishing the Lake Fork river near Powder Horn a few years back and after fishing a few hours I sat down near the river for lunch, when I notice something sticking out of the ground that looked very familiar. I go over to look at it and discover a ten inch dodo. My partner said a couple of lezees must have left it behind after a mid night rondavu, but we couldn't stop laughing after that one.

Gilles, familar? A real belly buster though!

Here's one of mine.Several years ago while fishing with several friends in the Creede area the boat we were using caught on fire. We were on a steep rough road going into Continental Res. While trying desperately to put the fire out an old fellow speed up jumped out of his old pickup gun drawn firing into the flames yelling he was gonna blow up the gas tank. A wood cuck ran from behind some rocks ,the old guy started shooting in his direction yelling look at that lion. The wood chuck and gas tank were in no danger. The boat and all our equipment went up in flames while we helped the old gentleman polish off the half gallon of JD in his non shooting hand.It wasn't long before before our vision was as clear as his.My drinking days are long since over due in part to the hangover that day brought on.That memory stills brings on good laugh.

I bought my first boat last year, an old 71 Starcraft. Took it down to Chatfield on an extremeley busy Saturday morning. worked my way through the crowd and launched it without a problem. Turned the key for the first time and it started right up. In full throttle and with no nuetral or reverse! After smacking a brand new speed boat, it careened off that and worked it's way half way up the dock before I could get the motor turned off.
