Dan Dan-

Was up at Hawk Springs Reservoir (65 miles north of Cheyenne on hwy 85) 3/31 and 4/1. Caught six nice eaters (2 lbs-2.5 lbs). Bite not real hot, but enough to keep ya interested. Jig and nightcrawler in about 14 foot of water. Had a friend go to Glendo for the week, have not heard how he did though. Will let you know!

Dan-

A nonresident annual fishing lisence is running $75 this year plus a conservation stamp for $10. Nonresident dailys are available for $10/day.

Have not heard from my friend that went to Glendo, he should have come home today. Will keep you advised.

I've never caught a walleye before the first week of April and its a one or two fish a day type deal at least until things lighten up at the end of April. But I can only speak for Pueblo Res. and John Martin, I've heard Cherry Creek and Chatfield warm up a lot quicker.

fished Boyd on Friday, got nothing but a few trout. trolled bottom bouncers with crawlers tring to find some eyes, but no luck. That cold front, I'm sure, didn't help.
Hey Dan Dan, I'd like to still take you up on that Stanley Lake offer, whenever it's possible.

John19:

Hey man if you're trolling that means you have something your administrative counterpart does not have...a boat(we administrators are smart!) I guess I left the classroom to soon! Hey by the way I am in the market for a boat. Let me know if you see a sweet deal (you know us administrators...something for nothing!) Hey let me know what you are up to this summer and maybe we can hook up and you can coach me up on my new boat purchase(if that happens).

Thanks for all the replies everyone. John19, Standley opens for boating on May 1st. So any time after that your on! Working on getting an old air cooled 5hp sears engine working again, to push me around Standley a little quicker than my bow mount. Anyone know somebody that works on these type of outboards? Still haven't got out fishing (going on 3 weeks now). Really bites! Oh well good luck to you guys that do get to go.

Lucky: we just got it and Friday was the first time on the water. Not big for skiing, but a pretty solid fishing boat. 16.5ft. 50hp, trolling motor up front, 2 fish finders, all in all in great shape. Looking to put quite a few hours on the water this summer! With a 50 hp, I'll be able to get the kids up for sure!

That sounds great! Maybe I can get with you if I pull off the trifecta...A trip to Hawaii, an RV and a boat. O.K. I know I'm crazy but who knows!

Greg-

The water is down about 50 yards from the normal level(drought is still strong) but better than it was last fall. The water depth at the dam was 20 foot at the deepest. Most of the reserviour is 8-10 feet deep but the area in front of the campground is 14-18 feet of water. The end of the boat ramp is still underwater. Boat size, I seen some 22 footers in there last week. Good luck!
