John19
Hey freak! How was Chambers? Never fished it but have always wanted to. The walk through the snow has always scared me off! There's some big fish in there, we've caught them in the spring, when the ice 1st comes off.
sledfreak
Chambers was great, it snowed all day and we caught 6 lakers all aroud the 22" range. Snow pack is around 10-12ft. It is a great place to fish and you can go well into March.

John19
Chamber is in North park, up on Cameron pass. How was the walk in? Where did you fish and with what? We usually fish the NW corner in about 40ft of water,(in the spring), with tube jigs and sucker meat. There are some big ones in there, but you have to get deep. They usually hug the bottom. sledfreak
Hey john, didnt walk in, rode the sled, the snow is deep, and there is a lot of fresh powder. We fished all over the lake, literally, from the boat ramp to the far end and caught fish in every spot we fished. We were using white airplane jigs and sucker meat. Caught fish in 12ft and caught fish in 80ft their all over, head up and give it a try.P.S. Bring the power auger th ice is 32" plus[This message has been edited by sledfreak (edited 02-24-2004).]
Jaquomo
Pretty slow there today. We ran up on an impromptu trip. I would've expected better movement with the barometer bouncing around, but it didn't happen. Between three of us, we only landed about 35 mini-Macs, plus 6 or 7 rainbows when we started goofing around for them.Fished hard for big macs in proven big mac spots until mid morning, but no hits and only had one good one rush in, but he didn't hit. Probably should've stuck with the plan and not given in to fishing for little fellers, but we felt like getting some action, at least. Overall, a disappointing day by Chambers standards.Anybody hear of any good ones (12 lb+) coming out of Chambers this season? I have not.
sledfreak
My best advice for Chambers is when you get on to the little guys, stick with em. All of thoes big boys are runnin around with em. Last year I caught about 25 in the 20 inch range in about 15 min. then it stoped for about 30 min. and my next fish was 17lbs. Just stick it out and youll get the big ones.
