You can e-mail the ranger at [email protected]. I had good luck with them replying promptly. I can tell you that last weekend the ranger at Steamboat lake was advising against icefishing because of thin ice.

For what it's worth. The Ranger at Stagecoach said that the ice had just started to form at the South boat ramp and at the inlet. He felt that it would be 2-3 weeks before it was safe enough to fish.

Thanks for the info. Have sent them a e-mail. May have to go to Lake John or the Delaney's. We had good luck on south Delaney last year. I just want to fish.

My buddy who lives up there said 80% open water as of yesterday.

Thanks icenutt and icemaster you saved us a trip. Looks like we will be going to Lake John and the Delaney's. I sent a e-mail and they said the ice is now forming and can still fish from the bank on parts of the lake.

My buddy said she is mostly locked up, but didn't he check the ice thickness. SOON SOON

Just rec'd a note fm the Stage Coach ranger. The lake has been iced over since the 18th. Currently, 3 to 5" in most areas. People have been fishing but he didn't mention any results. Of course, he advised using extreme caution on the new ice. I'm hoping Friday finds me at the "Coach"Yeah Baby!
