Need advice about the Grand Mesa...Caling all experts!

I need recommendations for the best place to ice fish the Grand Mesa. Also, is there any lodging close by-I am considering taking my annual three day trip up there. Veterans of the Grand Mesa opinions and expertise are apprepciated.

Hey,Lucky-I havent fished the mesa in a couple years 4or5 prolly but I would give Middle Griffith Lake a try-Its right off the highway on the way up about 1/4 mile in. We caught many nice bo's as well as breaking some off 4 and 5 lbers! Somebody said it had been drained so I dont know.

You might try getting hold of Spruce Lodge, Mesa Lakes Lodge or Grand Mesa Lodge. Grand Mesa Lodge would probably be your best bet. They rent snowmobiles and are really getting into the ice fishing game. It is located right on Island Lake. It is the largest lake on the Grand Mesa. # is (970) 856-6700.
