O.K. So it was evident that you guys were not fans of Skaguay but... is it going to fishable through the ice this year? My kids love to ice fish there.

Had a friend fish Skaguay (sp?) last week and caught a 38" Pike! He caught it with a Mud Dog on a tip-up.

He said the ice was 6" and the fishing was great.

I got to figure out how to find that place so I can hit it this week!

CI Man...

Take Hwy 24 and go west of the Springs. When you get to Divide go south on Hwy 67. You'll go about 18? miles and the road will take a hard right bend. This should be where you intersect with county road 81 (There is a KOA campground on the hill for you to use a landmark). You'll take this road left toward Victor. Be careful as some of the hills are icy. The road is paved. You'll start to see Victor as you go down the last hill. Just before you get to town you'll see a helicopter landing pad (Orange windsock). Turn left here (County road 861) You'll follow this for about 1/2 mile and then the road forks. Go left (still on cty Road 861) there should be a little white sign saying Skaguay Res. You are about 6 miles from the res. It is a dirt road-well maintained. The road will lead right to the res.

Just got back from Skagway,
not a thing saw only 2 small rainbows caught.
There must have been 40 people out there this morning. Two bites on the tip-ups...nothing. One the bait got stole, never had that happen before and the other the flag went up after there was 25 feet of line off the reel, oh well.

hope everyone else had better luck.
