New Ice Gadgets!

Recommended Posts

Welp, since it came up in another thread, I thought I would start it on a thread of its own...

As with any ice season, seems to be some new stuff out. I saw a new ice rod that was neat up at shucks on okoboji...it had a little battery operated gizmo on it that made it vibrate and jiggle with the push of a button...imitating the "jiggle" that gentz made famous. Vexilar also has a new ice station for your fl8 or 18 with power hook ups, rod holder, etc. built in. SOme new electronics out for us icers...lowrance has a new color flasher lcd I have seen in magazines as well.

New stuff...always!

No, I dont remember who makes the rod for sure, but it is neat. Was like $35 or I would have bought one just to have. Like I said, it has a small 3/4" long, 1/2 inch round, black vibrating mechanism on the rod, just between the reel and first eye. On the handle is the control...hold it down for it to jiggle like mad. Really cool, but expensive!

Anyone seen any new lures out there? A year or two the Salmo Chubby Darter was new and have been waiting for some new lure design to hit the market.

New spoon coming from JB tackle, the rattle varmint, basically the good old reliable varmint spoon with a cast in glass rattle tube. I begged for this spoon for three years, glad to see someone listening..There is a hint of a new spoon out of scenic tackle possibly next season, keep yer eyes peeled..Paul
