I fished the north end on Saturday and was catching fish until my 7 year old stepped in an ice hole and got cold. I think I left about the time the good bite started. Caught bg and crappie. They were the first nice crappies I had caught out of there this year.

S.M. how deep were you fishing? Timber related? drop-off or creek bed related?

My last couple trips were busts for eyes. contacted some about 3 weeks ago in 38' of water on the edge of the creek channel that dropped off to 55'. They haven't been back there since, of course.

Where I was at 3 weeks ago was about 250 - 300 yds south and east of ya...... about 75 yds off the road. Trees there also.

The area your talking was also producing some walleyes & crappie back then. A long walk if you aren't using wheels. Thanks.

Never been there before.Want to go up 3-8 maybe. How far is a long walk? Are there any roads or parking close to where people fish? I would be walking also pulling port. From what I hear it is mostly a night bite? Will be coming from the south.Any bad ice anywhere to be aware of?

There are several way to acces the lake. When you say form the south, I assume yu will be coming up 35. Go west on hwy. 20. One access road is Vasse Ave (gavel) and it stops at the north end of the lake. The fish I have been catching have been near the creek channel and real close to tight, thick brush. If you go one more road west, there are signs pointing south. This road is a blacktop and goes to the main park on the west side. The deeper water is down there. I have never been much of a walleye fan so I am not sure what the tactic is in that area. I would fish late afternoon into the evening.

I fished brushy last night 3-5 crappies are still biteing in deep water 30-35 feet the only thing is four wheel drive is a must there is alot of snow but can drive any where as far as I know, there is a good path off of the main west ramp follow the path there is a hold down for the dock that is broken off looks like a instant flat tire.Walleyes are still biteing if you hold your mouth rite. And as far as I know the ice is good all over a good jig and minow is working well I have not seen any work better than the next... Hope this helps.

Was on Brushy Satuurday 5/3 lots of boat traffic we picked up one nice bass and lost a nice walleye next to the boat. We were using slip bobbers in 20' to 30' with leeches. The bight was real slow. I seen very few fish caught.

walleye Hunter - Brushy is not the best place to troll crankbaits. There are two flat areas that crankbait trolling, even with side planners is fairly safe. several of the roadbeds are open enough for trolling cranks but you have to watch for trees that over hang the road. And when you get to the end of the run, don't try circling back down the road, reel in and turn around. The face of the dam produces some fish on cranks.

And when trolling cranks, watch your locator for trees, stop and backup and reel in when you see them. Another tip is to bend the points of each treble hook inward about 20 degrees. You will miss some hook ups but avoid many snags. June is the best time for crankbaiting brushy but the safe locations are limited. I would suggest vertical jigging a jig / minnow, leech or twister around roadbeds, rockpiles etc. until you get to know each little area better. Casting crankbaits along edges of treelines is very effective and much safer than blindly trolling. As the other posted suggested, many people slip bobber rock piles and woody areas, espically open pockets within wooded areas. Or cast jigs around wood. Also many fish will suspended using the timber edges just like weedlines in northern lakes, and over submerged brush on some flats that look "clean".

All in all, brushy is alot more labor intensive walleye fishing than what we are used too.
