A good recipe for tanning hides

I'm looking for a good recipe for tanning hides for the first time. I would most likely have coon, squirrel, or cottontail hides. Much appreciated!!!

Look up Van Dykes Taxidermy on the internet and search for "tanning" on their site. They've got several good products for sale with instructions.

There are quite a few kits you can buy from wasco's, van dykes, research mannkins. Most people are sending there hides to tanning shops. The price isn't bad and saves a lot of headaches. Takes alot of practice and good solutions to keep hide hair from slipping in the future. Its a smelly job, not for the weak stomach. I would suggest you don't do it in your home. Maybe a gargage or something. Good luck, let us know how it turns out.
