Roughfisher
The DNR has officially expunged the word "roughfish" from the regulations. There is now no such thing as a "roughfish" in Minnesota. "Underutilized Fish" is the new term. There may not be any roughfish, but there is STILL a Roughfisher!

jparrucci
In Oregon, the walleye is categorized as a "roughfish". There is no limits or season, and may be caught using any method.
Toad
You kinda have to laugh at that. Puts things in proper perspective, doesn't it? Yep, that's quite a war out there between salmon and walleye factions. The funny thing is, walleyes in the Columbia drainage-- perhaps the best trophy walleye water in North America-- arrived via "bucket biologists." Never meant to be there in the first place; through agency stocking or otherwise. Walleye as a "roughfish"-- I love it. -a friend called Toad
iland99
A fella I work with refers to walleyes as "white-eyed carp". Apparently he's not that far off in that statement!!
