Robert Booth
I don't usually get too excited about ice jigs, they have all seemed to work pretty well for me. This past Saturday I fished with Clam's new Duckbill Drop Jig that they came out with this year. I was using this jig to sight fish Crappie and Bluegill in a tournament and it proved to me that it's worth having in my box. I was able to get two distinct actions from the bait while fishing. A fast sudden drop of the rod tip would cause the jig to flutter and dart off to the side, triggering many of the Crappie I caught into biting. A slow and steady bounce would make the jig waddle it's way down the water column. This jig tipped with a Maki plastic was the ticket. Now I've only fished this jig for one day but I can guarantee you I'll have it tied on at the next tournament, after all I did place third at the last one. Bring it! minky
Sounds like a jig I need to check out! I wonder how it would work for perch and walleye?
Bob Hicks
I used it yesterday for perch and could not get them to take it. I tried it with wax worms, perch eyes, on a Hali, and straight up. Nada! A light green Hali tipped with perch eye was dynamite.
Robert Booth
I would think the larger size tipped with a minnow head would be dynamite in shallow water for the eyes.-Bobby
