SmokinBobO
I looked for the new conversion kit at the Ice Show yesterday. I only found one place with the plate and extension and that guy wanted $90 for the pair. I saw the extension alone at another popular retailer for $14.99 and I had seen on the internet that the plate is priced from 49.99 to 59.99 so I opted not to spend and extra $15 to walk out of the show with the combo. The big retailers indicated they were out and the product is backordered. Based on the early popularity, is Clam expecting to have more manufactured/avvailable this winter? amateurfishing
no, from the info I have been given clam stopped production a month ago or so and whatever is enroute or already at the retailers is what will be available this season. SmokinBobO
Based on what the Bass Pro Web site is doing it looks like they are out too. It's really a moot point for early ice as that program is over for the year with ice conditions getting to the point that ATV travel is good to go here in Central MN. I was just curious for the late season walking program.

S. Thompson
Reeds sporting goods still has them online. http://www.reedssports.com/Product/product.taf?_function=detail&_ID=31042 And I would not call it an early only ice tool. We had it out on a lake today and it was flawless on 12" of ice. My 13 year old was just having fun drilling holes with it. I'll probably keep using up to 16" to 18" of ice. Light weight and drills just as fast as my StrikeMaster Laser Pro. One great piece of equipment to have at your disposal! Bravo to Clam!!!! That's with fishing tournaments where we can drill 200 holes a piece in a day.
SmokinBobO
Primarily because I'm to lazy to carry a gas auger or to drill by hand. While I see this as a great option for situations where I have to walk, my gas auger will do just fine from its spot on the wheeler. All the reports on its performance through more ice are great, but since it appears to be sold out at this point and there is wheeler safe ice in my area I'm not going to be spending any time looking for it for now. That' all I was trying to get across.
