S. Thompson
Has anyone used these in lieu of using tip-ups. http://www.jawjackerfishing.com/ Could they be setup for use on perch and panfish?
Corey Bechtold
I'm pretty sure they are illegal in Minnesota. Good luck, Corey Bechtold
S. Thompson
That's what their HSOforum says. Pretty sure they would be legal in South Dakota, but will be checking with GFP.
CaptSpike
I have used them and like them. My nephew uses them alot for brook and rainbow trout and loves them. I was worried about the line freezing in the hole and not setting the hook but so far no problems. I use mine mostly for lake trout with cut bait. I plan on trying it for crappie this yr though and I expect it to work just fine. Much nicer to reel fish in using a rod and reel than just a hand line. Garett Svir1582813971
I have used another brand called the automatic fisherman for trout and steelhead with success in Wisconsin. This brand has a bobber that is filled with a non toxic, anti freezing solution, that sits on the surface so your line doesn't freeze in. Unfortunately they are illegal in Minnesota.
