when going to a lake you have never been to what is everyone's favorite search lure for panfish?

Small jiggin spoon loaded with maggots even if you don't get them to bite you will wake them up.

A small jiggin rap, soaked with lots of scent. They will at least come over and look at it. Then I drop a small tear drop jig with maggots.

Small zip lure or Salmo Chubby darter. Dinner bell for crappies, I'll have a 4 or 5 Fiska with a wedge or spikes standing by to drop to the level that the darter was at. Great for deep water.

bigger jig or spoon, rigged with plastics. You are hopping holes and quickly checking for action, rig the rods with a heavier bait and a plastic tail. No time to thaw out baits, fish are most aggessive with the first presentation they see
