ifishsd
Roy lake is a trophy smallmouth bass lake. Fish over 3 lbs are pretty common. I too have never fished this lake.
Mike Walerak
I am not much help up in this area. I too am curios about this lake. I took a quick glance at the GFP surveys and the lake looks like it is in great shape for walleyes! It is definatly on my list of lakes to fish this summer. Anyone fish this lake ever?mw
32 degrees
I too have never fished Roy. Probably should have considering how many times we have driven right by. Tony Dean fishes out there alot the way it sounds. Is there another access besides the one in the park? I did talk to a buddy from Eden who thought there were alot of smallies in there. Not sure though...
bobber_down
Roy does have some nice smallies in there, also some decent pike and once in awhile you can get on the walleyes. But once the weather warms up be prepared to fight the jet skiers and such. I hate fishing there anytime after May...
jr712
The lake is seperated by a large pennisula that comes up from the south.. a long underwater point extends north of that with lots of rocks...is an excellent area for smallmouth in early june. work the shorelines around the pennisula after mid May. The drop off around that long underwater point is good for walleyes as is the shoreline areas near the inlet area in the northwest corner of the lake, off of Roy lake Resort area. The south shoreline of the bay across from the resort, all the way east around the point where the lake turns south. Several rocky points on the north east - east side of the lake should also be holding walleyes. fish 8 - 14ft. depths for the eyes and 3 - 8 ft. depths for the smallmouth... generally. If you're bringing your own boat, check out Cattial - Bitter lake for walleyes and nice pike. Try the east side of the narrows area that seperates the two lakes and standing timber areas on Cattail. - Jeff
