Scott Seibert
Obe, If you are heading North the ice is in good shape. I just came back from the Hackensack area and had 6-9 inches of ice. I caught some gills in 18' of water using Northand Mud Bug tipped with an Pink Impulse Tadepole plastic. Metro area is starting to form up but you want to take your Ice chisel with you and pick your way out. I was on a metro area lake and it had 3 inches of slush ice and 2 inches of good ice below the slush. If you are heading out just take your time and be safe. Jason Durham
Most Lakes in the Park Rapids area have about 10 inches of good ice. Some people are actually beginning to take vehicles out on the smaller lakes but I'd suggest sticking with ATV's or snowmobiles. The bite's been good, especially for bluegill, crappie and walleye.
