Chad Peterson
The First Ice-Alexandria GTG was the first time to hold this type of event and I would say it was a good one. If you were there, you know that it had great speakers with very good information on the lastest fishing equipment. And, of course the fishing was hands down...............awesome. Everyone had smiles on the there faces and thats what its all about. The kids had a blast in the seminars and out on the ice. I don't want to say this, but you should have been there. There were on the ice demo's of equipment and the use of different rods and jigs(plastics). Everyone was involved on the ice, just having a great time. The one thing that Matt Breuer said and it was so true when he tried the new ion auger;"It was quiet, and it did not disturb the fish from maving around like the gas augers did". I noticed it too. The gas augers made those fish move. Granted, we were in 10FOW, but you could tell that those fish moved. I was some what on the fence with the ion augers, but after seeing and using it, I'm sold. Quiet was key for me, and as much shallow water fishing I do this is for me! Try them out yourself and you will be impressed. Matty with a 14.25" Slab! Once we had everyone there and fishing it started slow, but quickly turned on once we drilled about 25 holes. We had a light rain and then turned over to snow and I think that played to be a positive. The barometer was moving and that is a recipe for success. We were in 10-13FOW and hole hoping for those slabs and gills. Even a few walleyes were caught. Most of the fish that were caught were on plactics. Overall, it was a great and fun event, and the plans for next year are in the works. I want to really thank everyone for there help in this event. Thanks to the speakers: Tony Mariotti-Vexialr Matt Breuer-Ice Team/Clam Jeff and John- thornebros. Shawn Knodt-Striker Ice Suites Chris Wallace-Lindy Tackle. Rick Paquin- HSO Special Thanks to Alsyia at ArrowWood Resort for the help on the room and the food. By the way, the food was very good. The venders that help with the door prizes, thank you! The kids loved them. Until next time, be safe and we will see you next year!

Borch
Awesome day on the ice! Thanks for all your hard work Chad. Everyone had a smile on their face even though it was raining, sleeting and finally snowing. Fishing was good as was the company and information being shared. My drive up there was more than worth it. I can't wait until next time.
