walleye69
Fished the north end of Waubay on Fri evening and the bite was superb. My buddy and I had no problem catching our limit of 15-16" eyes on jigs and minnows. The sad part is all of the fish were very skinny and looked like they were having problems finding food. I had a northern rig out with smelt and the walleyes would not leave it alone. Thats a pretty good indication to me that the fish are very hungry and short of forage. Also fished the west side of Bitter on Sat evening and caught a good number of walleyes in the 14-22" range on jigs & minnows. The fish on Bitter were very fat & looked very healthy. sloughshark
Me and and my cousin whooped some eyes last saturday the 10th on Waubay. Just got out for about a half hour after easter supper. We had our four eyes in less than 10 casts. Soon after that it was a shalacking of the walleye. It was every cast for the last 15-20 minutes. Sizes were anywhere from 12 to 16 and a half was the largest. The fish were very skinny but would make a tasty meal for a couple hungry folks. It was a cold S.O.B out in the waders, hands were numb and the eyelets on the loomis were full of ice by nights end. We fished the south side in Denholm Bay. Just an eighth ounce jig head tipped with a minnow. Good Luck!
