Northern Pike Action?

Will be in the Aberdeen area for the weekend and was wondering of some places to try for northerns with some deadbait, and/or casting from shore.

Figure on probably having to drive an hour or so but just wondering which lakes and maybe even some areas to begin looking.

I have not done any ice-out esox fishing in the area.

I've heard Richmond lake has been producing a few walleye and northern from shore.

I read a report earlier tonight that stated fair numbers of 12 to 20lb+ northerns being caught on Waubay Lake. Don't know where and don't know what what is meant by fair numbers. The bait shop in Webster should know. Good Luck!!
