Was just wondering how the bite is at the river? Has anyone heard anything... Were heading out there this weekend for a few fish and some good laughs...

I don't know about the bite on the river, but I think I will try Fort Thompson this weekend if I can make it. I hope it will be good.

I was going to reply to the gentleman about "His State", but noticed that his post was gone already. It's good to see that this type of stuff isn't allowed on this site.

I fished Ft. Thompson on Monday. Nice and windy with little fish to speak of. We fished for 10 hours and came home with one fish. Tried jigging and tried bottom bouncers. The only thing that caught fish that day was bottom bouncers but that was the only thing we could keep on the bottom. Fished the stilin basin fished in front of the basin fished downstream. Didn't see much activity out of the few other boats that were braving the weather either.

Hey Holehopper- Try the rod holders and planner boards during the tourney on leach- I think that will be the answer. I think I smell a side bet.

No reports from hear! It is that time of year where I am thinking about what changes to the boat and fishing techneques I will try this year. Thinking about boards and cranks and rod holders and Med-hev action rods and counter reals and...............$

Any reports from this past weekend yet on the river out of Chamberlain yet?

We were out this weekend and had pretty good luck... We were fishing the Kioaw (not sure on the spellng)flats, did pretty good there, we also fished Crow Creek, did well... Another part of our group fished up at the dam, NOTHING!!
We did good jigging until about 9 am then the only way we could get them to bite was by, laying the rod over the edge of the boat about a foot of the bottom and waited until they bit.. If you jigged it, they wouldn't touch it...
The weather was great, not too much wind, and plenty of sun..
Had some buddies that did well casting up to shore early in the AM and went to jigging later in the day....
