fishing4fun
How's the water at the **** in Flandreau. I'm sure it's very low again this year. Is it open enough yet to go cast a few twisters. I was thinking about going out this weekend and trying it.Thanks for the info.
N_Foster
I'm not sure if it was going to affect fishing but there was an article in thenewspaper last month about a big fish kill on the Big Sioux. I'm not sure what area of the Big Sioux it was though.
walk on water
fished flandreau area on friday mornig from 6am 8am with no luck. Snagged one carp and saw quite a few dead catfish on the shore. Water levels were pretty low from spring. The water levels were not much higher than late last fall. Hopes this helps. I also saw reports of large winter kill in the area, so I don't know if this affected the fishing or not, but typically right after ice out is always good around flandreau. HOF#13
It was in Flandreau that they were talking about all of the dead fish on the news and in the argus leader. Not surprising the fishing was poor. They were worried about something polluting the water, but a few days later they said it was due to low oxygen levels, and not a chemical. fishing4fun
Any new reports from the Flandreau area? I've heard of some rumors, but no facts yet. I might give it a try this weekend.
walleyewacker
Some days are slower than others. Fished it a couple times last week and it wasnt too hard to walk away with four. It wasnt fast and furious. 16-17in fish was what we were catching and did see a 5+ get caught. It is a good bet for some action.
