S.D. Migratory Bird Stamp

Who came up with this years state migratory bird stamp? Man, lets not make it cool or anything. Just bought it today and was very disappointed.

The change was made this year on the "State Duck Stamp" to accomodate on-line licensing for the stamp. Since it was tough to reproduce the artwork it was decided just to do away with it. It was a great cooperative program between the SD G F & P and Ducks Unlimited. The money is still going into habitat programs in conjuction with DU but it just won't be as 'pretty'.

Speaking of the artwork - there is going to be an Artists Tribute Event April 16th in Sioux Falls to say thanks to the winning artists over the years of the program. Most of them will be there and providing original artwork for auction including a first of it's kind cooperative piece by both Mark Anderson and John Green. Details can be found at www.sdducks.org - and yes, the stamps are pretty boring....
