Driving on NE SD lakes

Does a guy need a snowmobile to get around on the NE SD lakes or is a 4WD truck ok?

4x4 will do just fine. I have only had to shovel once and that was to get on at my secret spot "Zipperlip Lake"!

People are driving all over Waubay lake. Ice is a good 36 inches thick. There is quite a bit of snow on the lake, but you can drive around the bigger drifts.

Plus there is alot of trails you can drive on.
