Is there fishing near Mt Rushmore?

I am planning a trip to see Mt Rushmore the weekend of April 30 - May 2. Is there any fishing I can get in around that area? I have never been to that part of the state. I love to crappie fish in the spring. If there is a lodge some where that would be great.

There are lots of fishing opportunities in the Black Hills, but most of them are for trout. Stockade Lake has a decent crappie and perch population, but fairly small fish. Angostura Reservoir is pretty good for all-around fishing, but you almost need a boat. Sylvan Lake is a good trout fishing lake, as is Center. Bismarck Lake has perch and largemouth, plus trout. There are all kinds of lakes in the Black Hills, and all kinds of places for lodging, just go on the internet and check it out!

Thanks it sounds like mostly trout fishing.Do you happen to know what it would cost for a one day or two day fishing licence for out of state.I will look around at some lodging. I have never fished for rainbows do you use a spinner bait. thanks for the input.

Deerfield lake has shore fishing opportunities for rainbow trout, very scenic also.
