sloughshark
Another hard water tourny sheduled for Saturday on lake kampeska, I havent heard much coming from there from folks ive talked to here in town. the reports i have received have been pretty grim. I was just wondering if any of you hardwater heros have tried it lately. I would like to fish it, beings its so close to home, but i would also like to catch some fish.Flags up! Gotta Go! carpncoot
Actually I have had pretty fair luck out there as of late and for the past month. Most of the fishing has been "out in the mud" in the middle of the lake. I have been putting in at the access near Kampeska Lodge and heading out towards the water tower in the Hidden Valley area and set up near the middle. There basically is no structure so just set up and hope you get lucky. Primary bite, of course, is an hour each side of sundown which makes it nice for this tourney as it runs from 1:00 - 6:00. I normally catch quite a few throwbacks but end up with a couple keepers each time in the 14-17" range. Glow baits seem to work well as the water is fairly cloudy. Catch that $10,000.00 walleye! sloughshark
thanks for the info carpncoot, I decided we are gonna give it a try. What do you think the odds are of actually icing the elusive $10,000 walleye? It would sure be nice though wouldn't it. Maybe see ya on the ice and good luck to you!
