Any have wanta-be fisherman drilling holes on top of you this weekend? It seemed that everytime we did the work locating the fish this weekend, and after throwing a few on the ice about 2 to 3 different groups of guys would come and drill right on top of us. I'm trying to be nice about it, but it always scared the perch, and we have to go off looking for the fish again. And as soon as we found them they would start drilling. What *****S!!!! YOU CAN ONLY PUT UP WITH THIS FOR SO LONG. Luckily we limited out and go off the lake before words were said.

That's fishing! Maybe you would have better luck without the pressure if you stayed in the land of "10,000" lakes. You need to relax a little. That's what fishing is suppose to be about!!! After all isn't that what your user name suggests.

Fish on the ice is a broadcast message that you are in an area that has potential. Not that it is right for them to crowd you, but put those fish in a bucket out of sight and your problem likely goes away.

I just think it's a bunch of dump that we have to use our fishing gear to find the fish and these turkeys use spotting scopes and binoculars. Thats not fishing the way I was brought up. They looked like little kids at a parade chasing candy on the streets. If you do your own work and find the fish isn't that more gradifying than pouncing on someone else. I don't go jump in another guys boat just because he's catching fish and I'm not. I've been that person before and I know it sucks, that's how fishing is suppost to go. Some people know how to fish, some people get lucky, and some people don't know what they are doing out there so they use the rest of us to find the fish.....

I remember going Ice fishing on a small lake when I was about 20 or so. I had an old hand auger, my 6' rod and reel and some jigs. There were 3 older fellas up by the spillway fishing, so my friend and I went off to the West side and started drilling our holes. One of the older fellas comes over with his power Auger and drills us a bunch of holes, bless his heart. We jigged for awhile and caught a few which was ok. Next thing we know another one of the fellas bring us over some minnows. Pretty soon we are hammering the Bass (nice ones too). The other 3 sets of old timers come over by us and drill holes around us and try their luck. They were not having any luck where they were, and did not have no luck drilling holes by us. We kept on dragging them in tho, through holes they drilled for us, and useing minnows they gave us. We had a blast, it did not matter that they came over and made noise, drilled holes, we still caught fish we may not have gotten. My point is, we were grateful, everybody had fun, even tho they were crowding us, it made no difference, we even poked fun at the old timers. That was some of the best Ice fishing I have ever had. I am glad that they did not have your attitude, or I might not enjoy the sport as I do today. Them fish are just as much theirs as yours, unless of course they were setting on your lap while drilling the holes, that might be a little too close. :-)
