How's the ice looking back East

I was wondering if you guys were making any ice back there this week? It got to 0 last night and it's -12 below right now in Meade county. That would make ice but we got about 5 inches of fluffy snow a couple nights ago so that will sure slow the ice making. I'll be waiting.

I can't speak from being out myself, but Danny Olson fishing report says there are people out fishing on many eastern lakes, particulary northeast. Below zero predicted tonight and not much of a warmup forecast so would think there will be many out this weekend depending on if and when that front with high wind comes thru that they are forecasting. I'm hoping to maybe get out on Sunday.

Looks like there will be pretty good ice this weekend. Small lakes in the Webster area had around 6" today with temps below zero tonight and very little snow on the ground. As always tho' "be careful". Ice conditions can vary greatly from one lake to another. Overall, a good early ice kickoff.

I'm going to try to get out this weekend and head north a ways. I'm probably just going to do some scouting and punch some holes.I will try to report back on saturday night with some info. ( my truck really needs a oil change though!!!)
