fishinnut_3446
Just bought a new Otter resort and put all together and now I just bought a hyfax kit for it, Has anyone tried to install when all set up ? I'm thinking I should take the canvas and poles back off
BoxMN
I would not take it off. Just set it upside down on your tailgate and a saw horse, getting it level as possible. Might need some help getting it up there, but then drill pilot holes (one size smaller than directions tell you) and screw in one by one, starting at the front. Don't strip the plastic threads the screws make, it will be enough to hold the hyfax down. Clip the allen wrench off so you can put it into your screwgun for fast screwing in, go light on the clutch so it won't strip. Then get under the tub with a screwgun and nut driver and put the nylock nuts on. If you re lucky they will tighten perfect, other wise you might need some help holding either the screw or the nut while tightening the other side. I did this with a cabin and an old Clam Voyager and it worked fine. Good luck. ps see here: Edited December 30, 2015 by BoxMN

redneckdan
Bevel the fronts of the hyfax a little more than factory then pound in with a mallet. Helps seat them in the pockets. I dirt bag in my Lodge all the time. An alps mountaineer cot will fit front to back if you pop the canvas loose from the back wall half way across and hang one end of legs over the tub. fishinnut_3446
redneck, The mallet may have helped if I thought of that, I used a heat gun to soften the sled a little then pushed them in worked great.
