The Environmental Protection Commission (EPC) will be asked to approve a Notice of Intended Action to initiate rulemaking changes governing the use of the Jordan Aquifer at its Feb. 17 meeting. The Jordan Aquifer is a significant well water source that extends underneath much of Iowa. A stakeholder group was tasked with evaluating the current rules, making recommendations and working with the DNR to develop rules for the recommendations that require rule changes.
