Rainfall has improved overall conditions in Iowa, with the drought-free area increasing from 75 percent two weeks ago to 80 percent this week. Through the month of April, average statewide precipitation for 2015 was running about two inches below normal, but rainfall in the first few days of May will help conditions continue to improve.
