Kinni/Willow parking fees

For the access points to these rivers that require a parking fee, is there a pay box at the parking lot? Or would I have to purchase a day pass at the state park office? I'm usually on the water at the crack of dawn, well before the offices open, so I'm wondering what one does if that's where you have to go to pay?

There should be a pay box at the office as well as most of the parking lots. I know for sure there's one at the Willow Falls lot and the Willowby lot as well. Good luck out there, lot's of fish in that stretch of river.

I haven't fished willow yet, but had the chance to scout several of the access points last year, and yes, it looked like a great place to fish! I haven't fished the lower kinni yet either, but want to hit it up. I've heard of a mystery access point off county road FF, but supposedly it's a long hike to the river. I drove by the lot off F and I'm pretty sure there was a pay box there, but I'm not confident enough to bet on it.

One more question...there's like 4 of 5 different lot's for the willow river, if I stop and pay at the first lot, am I good to park at all the rest as well? Or do I have pay at each? Thanks for the response wink

Yes, if you by a pass at the office or a self service box you can park at any lot in the park. I would suggest biting the bullet and getting the annual pass right away. Once you start fishing the Willow you're gonna want to go back and you'll be kicking your self for wasting $ on the daily pass. Plus the annual pass will cover you at Kinni State Park if you want to park at the F lot. There's more fish in the Kinni but there's a few hawgs in the Willow wink

Yeah, it kinda' sucks that prices are more expensive for out of state residents. I'll be hoping to hit the lower kinni for sure. This saturday I'm actually going to give the apple river a try, and might check out some spots on the willow that aren't within the park boundaries on the way back.
