night fishing for bass

I have only been to Tonka one time. I am sure it would be an awesome challenge!

If I was using my boat I would use my front graph on my electric motor to follow the "deepest" water contour while fishing. The trick I have learned from fishing deep lakes is:

It's not the depth your bait is in, it's keeping your boat in a specific depth! Tonka may be 6' to 20'?

In the California winter I would keep my boat in 60'-80' and cast toward the bank and drag my jig, split-shot or drop-shot all the way to the boat.

At night You Have to have a dependable spot-light to travel/run with!! And I like the "Sloan" (you can google this for more info) black light/white light combo for extra vision to see while you fish. I have seen guy's using big bright shop lights to see the bank the whole time they are fishing. They say that the light doesn't hurt the bite.

One last thing: Right now I am catching nice bass on drop-shots. I am using 1/4 oz. drop-shot weight, with the hook (#2 size) 18" from the weight and a swivel 8" to 10" from the hook. I nose hook a 3"-4" curly tail worm (Robo makes some great colors, Halogram shad is best right now for me). I use 6 and 8 pound Seagar flourocarbon line on my spin-rods. I have been catching 40+ fish a day using this method!!
