duck2
Hello I really got turned on to catfishing this past season and would love to do some ice fishing for channel cats. Any suggestions on good places to try and tactics? I am thinking that Lake Byellsby would be a good place. A tip up with some cut bait seems lie it would be a good approach. Any place in the metro worth trying . Maybe Long Lake in New Brighton? The lake's Rice Creek connection to the mighty Missisp seems like it would hold cats. Thanks

Look for holes, the cats school up big time. There's a 'cattin the chain' thread in the st cloud forum with plenty of info.http://www.hotspotoutdoors.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3315927/re-new-to-catfishin#Post3315927That link (and the links within it) should get you started. water rat
You might want to try the Croix? Stay away from the crowds and fish em like walleye, buckshot and a minnow head works great.don't be afraid to jig 10' of the bottom, most of the cats I have gotten were suspended ..
