Traditions Muzzle Loader

Recommended Posts

Anyone know a good gun smith that works on muzzle loaders? My buddy has a Traditions and you would have to pull the trigger calk and pull again several times before it would go off. He had a gun dealer send it back to Traditions and they said it was outdated and they dont have parts for it any more? He has only had it 4 years maybe shot 20 shots through it.

I would cut it up and throw away if manufacturer said they no longer made parts for it. Tradition are $150.00 range weapon. If you find a smith and they have to hand make a part you will be close to the purchase price of a new Traditions muzzle loader. They are cheap for a reason I guess. He should pick up a name brand used Muzzle loader of higher quality if price is an issue. I personally have shot my T/C New Englander for going on 27 years or so and have only replaced the nipple every couple of years. I have friends who have had CVA and Knight rifles for almost as long with no issues. IMHO I would not spend the money on it.
