Wisconson opener this weekend!

Recommended Posts

Once again, I look forward to hunting the Wisc opener with my father in law and two oldest kids. We will be hunting near Bruce on some private land with a total of nine in the party. My father in law will sit with one of my kids and me with the other. Our area is buck only this year but each of the kids have a doe tag that can be used in our unit. Have seen lots of deer on the cameras since the early youth season but no bruiser bucks to speak of. This time of year however, a big one can walk in at anytime so as usual I am excited to go out and put some time in on stand. Sounds like the weather is going to warm a bit which makes me very happy as we will be sitting in the elements on 2 man ladder stands. Good luck to one and all! have a safe opener and shoot straight! Let us know what area you hunted and how it went for you.

Good luck Tunrevir. I will be hunting with my 14 year old hunting buddy around the Webster Siren area.

I have a question on the youth tag. I see they get two carcass tags. One is buck and one is antlerless. Can they only shoot one or the other or can they use both tags?

When I read my regs book, it stated that the youth antlerless tag was valid in any unit statewide including bucks only zones. I took it as they could shoot a buck and a doe with the tags that they have.
