Great sit Saturday pm

Saturday afternoon I decided to go sit in a spot that I'd go to as a kid on the edge of a swamp pretty close to my dad's cabin. On the way in I saw 7 scrapes and a few rubs which got me more fired up than I have in a few year in the near deer less area where we hunt. I sat against a tree about ten yards away from a stand that we built in a clump of birch trees about 25 years ago.

It started snowing about 330 and the wind was blowing from the swamp to me, perfect. Never saw a deer, never heard anything that sounded like a deer and only saw one chipmunk. Only thing I got to do was to sit and think about the deer that had been shot by the old stand and think about the thoughts I had as a kid sitting with my Red wool coat on with the Johnee Hand Warmer keeping my hands worm and stinking like lighter fluid.

Hard to rate the season so far as unsuccessful after experiencing that.

Yep. Cold, windy, nothing moving. A perfect day.

Most any day in the woods can be the best day of the year, no matter the action.
